Logo Design: Bass Publishing

For this class’s first graded project, we created a logo treatment for a fictional publishing company that will be “publishing” the work we do in 465 this semester. Our logo had to include a visual element and typography. The visual element had to be drawn using Adobe Illustrator and had to work by itself to represent your “company” or alongside the company name. We also had to develop at variations of how the logo will be presented.

My company name I picked was BASS Publishing. Our mission is to empower readers and encourage reading with the purpose of self-improvement. We publish and promote “BAD ASS” authors, narratives, and companies. We hope that the books we publish make our readers feel like the “BAD ASS”! BASS supports the reader. We aim to target adults and college students.

I really enjoyed creating the brand guide for this project. I remember seeing the brand guide for the company I worked for last summer and I thought it was so neat and organized how all the pieces of the company were connected and cohesive with the brand guide. I like my logo, but I think it could use some improvement. I am hoping to make some tweaks by the animation project. Overall, I am content with my logo project, and I am excited to see the rest of the projects I complete this semester!
